Campbellford rips Deseronto, 8-2

The Campbellford Rebels were firing on all cylinders against the Deseronto Storm, and when the final buzzer sounded Rebels emerged with an 8-2 win.

Jeremiah Doherty was all over the ice for Campbellford, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Doherty scored 16:18 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Campbellford. Cole Hamilton provided the assist.

The Rebels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Deseronto power plays. Campbellford's offense rang up 46 shots on Deseronto's net. The Rebels surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Campbellford averages 4.2 goals per contest.

Campbellford additionally got points from Hamilton, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Jordan Boutilier, who also had three goals and one assist. Others who scored for Campbellford included William Lameroux and Jon Samis, who each put in one. More assists for Campbellford came via Reilly McGuire, Ryan Crowley, Brad Jacklin, TJ Patterson, Andrew Doxtator, Mitch Burke, and Grant Fry, who contributed one a piece.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Storm were helped by Brett Bateman, who registered one goal. Bateman scored 16:32 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Campbellford. Jesse Burtch picked up the assist. Chris Rogalsky also scored for Deseronto. In addition, Deseronto received assists from Tyler Diamond, who had one.

Cole Mahoney rejected 20 shots on goal for the Rebels. Campbellford incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brock Tufts made 38 saves for Deseronto on 46 shots. The Storm incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
