Huge game by Britton boosts Kincardine over Mitchell, 6-2

Cody Britton was all over the ice for the Kincardine Bulldogs, as he tallied one goal and four assists in Kincardine's 6-2 win over the Mitchell Hawks.

Britton beat Tyler MacGregor with a shot 9:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kincardine. Brett Catto picked up the assist. Britton dished an assist on Catto's goal that made the score 2-0 Kincardine at 15:46 into the first period. He then added assists on Catto's goal at 17:44 into the first, on Carter Strachan's goal at 9:55 into the second, and on Sam Feagan's goal at 16:20 into the second.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Mitchell faces elimination next time out.

The Bulldogs pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 32 penalty minutes.

Kincardine stifled the Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Kincardine additionally got points from Strachan, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Catto, who also finished with three goals and one assist, and Feagan, who also racked up one goal and two assists. More assists for Kincardine came via Matt Baker and Tanner Simpson, who contributed one a piece.

Mitchell's offense rang up 31 shots on the Bulldogs' net. The Hawks' power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on nine chances.

Mitchell was led by Brent Rae, who registered one goal. Rae scored 19:22 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Kincardine. Tyler Tolton assisted on the tally. Mitchell also got a goal from Zane Walkom as well. In addition, Mitchell received assists from Greg Orr and Brett Stacey, who each chipped in one.

Mitch Campbell recorded 29 saves for Kincardine. The Bulldogs registered two goals on five power play opportunities. The Hawks' starting goalie, Tyler MacGregor, made 10 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Kyle Poole, who stopped eight shots. Mitchell incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
