The game between the Hanover Barons and the Mount Forest Patriots was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Hanover emerged with a 4-2 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brad Pitt secured the win for the Barons with a goal in the third period. The win by Hanover clinched the best of seven series at 4-3. Pitt had a great game for the Barons, netting two goals. Hanover forced Mount Forest goalie John Nixon to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Tyson Soers also scored for Hanover. More assists for Hanover came via Brandon Eagles, Wendel Cameron, and Jarrett Kuntz, who contributed one a piece. The Patriots kept the Barons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Errington made 33 saves on 35 shots. Team could not crack Hanover's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 12 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Mount Forest was helped by Ben Davis, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Davis scored on the power play 5:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Mount Forest. The Patriots earned a power play opportunity when Errington was put in the box for slashing. Trevor Hughson provided the assist. Mount Forest also got points from Hughson, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Mount Forest received assists from Dean Nixon, who had one. The Barons incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. John Nixon made 35 saves for Mount Forest on 38 shots. The Patriots incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
