A stellar performance between the pipes by John Nixon helped the Mount Forest Patriots defeat the Hanover Barons, 6-1. After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Hanover faces elimination next time out. Mount Forest pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. The Patriots were led by Ben Davis, who registered one goal and one assist. Davis scored 5:42 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Mount Forest. Trevor Hughson provided the assist. Mount Forest's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Hanover power plays. The Patriots forced the Barons goalie Ben Errington to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Mount Forest additionally got points from Mitch Betts, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Hughson, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Cody Wright, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Dean Nixon also scored for Mount Forest. Other players who recorded assists for Mount Forest were Justin Graham, Nathan Woodard, Doug Ardis, Luke Richardson, and Tyler McCracken, who each chipped in one. Mount Forest was unable to stop Hanover from sending pucks towards the net, and the Barons eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Nixon recorded 44 saves for the Patriots. Mount Forest registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. Hanover's Errington stopped 31 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Barons ended with 35 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major. For Hanover, Justin Donnelly and Josh Steffler were ejected from the contest.
