Huge game by Brooks boosts Paris over Delhi, 5-0

The Paris Mounties' Richard Brooks had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 5-0 win over the Delhi Travellers.

Brooks got on the board by slotting home a goal 5:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. Brian Mueller picked up the assist. Brooks dished an assist on Clayton Chalmers's goal that made the score 2-0 Paris at 17:42 into the first period. He then added assists on Chalmers' goal at 4:52 into the third and on Brodie Smith's goal at 14:12 into the third.

The win by Paris clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Mounties excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Paris' offense rang up 39 shots on Delhi's net.

Paris additionally got points from Chalmers, who also registered two goals and two assists and Smith, who also had one goal and one assist. Tye Calder also scored for Paris. Other players who recorded assists for Paris were Mitchell Harvey, Zack Skubnik, and Daniel Puglise, who each chipped in one.

The Travellers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with just one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time.

Zach Shompe recorded 22 saves for the Mounties. Paris incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities. Nick Heath made 34 saves for Delhi on 39 shots.
