Paris rolls over Delhi, 8-0

The Paris Mounties' Clayton Chalmers had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-0 win over the Delhi Travellers.

Chalmers scored at 1:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris and again while 19:36 into the second to make the score 7-0 Paris.

The win by Paris broke a deadlock and gave the Mounties a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Paris' penalty kill excelled, as the Mounties gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 9:39 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Paris stifled Delhi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mounties kept the Travellers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nick Heath made 36 saves on 44 shots.

Paris additionally got points from Brady Wheelans, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Tye Calder, who also had one goal and one assist, Ian Fowler, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Daniel Puglise, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Paris also got a goal from Dylan Cole as well. In addition, Paris received assists from Matthew Small, who had three and Brett Banks, Mitchell Harvey, Zack Skubnik, Graham Kitching, and Brett Wilson, who contributed one a piece.

Zach Shompe made 21 saves for Paris on 21 shots. The Mounties totaled 37 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. For Paris, Zack Hedley was ejected from the game. Delhi ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For the Travellers, Josh Bradshaw and Alex Bogojevski were ejected from the contest.
