Trace, Stayner blank Erin, 7-0

Taylor Trace recorded a shutout against the Erin Shamrocks as the Stayner Siskins picked up a 7-0 win.

The win by Stayner clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

Jason Seeley had two goals to lead the Siskins to victory. Seeley scored on the power play at 14:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stayner and again while on the power play 3:13 into the third to make the score 5-0 Stayner.

Stayner excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Erin was unable to stop the Siskins from sending pucks towards the net, and Stayner eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The Siskins got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Stayner also got points from Cooper Martin, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Stayner included Sean Healy, Kyle Lafreniere, and Ricky Darrell, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Stayner were Trevor Franklin, Brendan Skidmore, Quinton Bruce, Ryan Hyndman, Ryan Hudson, Dakota Hynes, and Derick Robertson, who each chipped in one and Corey DeRose and Jackson Clarke, who contributed two a piece.

Taylor Trace made 28 saves for Stayner on 28 shots. The Siskins incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tom Denstedt rejected 37 shots on goal for the Shamrocks. Erin incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
