Jaczenko lifts Dundas over Chippawa, 6-2

Behind a great game by Kevin Jaczenko, who had two goals, the Dundas Blues defeated the Chippawa Riverhawks, 6-2.

Jaczenko scored on the power play at 18:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Chippawa and again while 18:48 into the second to make the score 3-2 Dundas.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Chippawa faces elimination next time out.

Dundas' offense rang up 45 shots on the Riverhawks' net. The Blues had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances.

Dundas additionally got points from Nick McMullen, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Dan Pelosini, who also had one goal and one assist, and Matt Johnson, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Dundas also got a goal from Elijah Williams as well. More assists for Dundas came via Branden Graffi, Tyler Jones, and Braxton Andrews, who contributed one a piece.

Chippawa was helped by Dylan Lazarus, who racked up one goal. Lazarus scored on the power play 11:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Chippawa. A high sticking penalty on Andrews had put the Riverhawks on the power play. Kyle Robertson assisted on the tally. Chippawa also got points from Robertson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Chippawa received assists from Wade Kenny, who had two.

Brock Novak rejected 26 shots on goal for Dundas. The Blues ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Dundas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Thomas Dowling was ejected from the game. Colin Dunne made 39 saves for Chippawa on 44 shots. The Riverhawks incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
