Dundas uses big games from Aquin and Johnson to down Chippawa, 7-3

Behind two goals and one assist from Alex Aquin and one goal and two assists from Matt Johnson, the Dundas Blues downed the Chippawa Riverhawks 7-3.

Aquin scored the first of his two goals at 3:14 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Dundas. Aquin's next tally made the score 6-3 Dundas with 6:23 left in the third period. Garret Incze assisted on the tally. Johnson scored on the power play 7:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dundas had taken the advantage when Chippawa's Josh Gordon got sent off for hooking. Thomas Dowling picked up the assist.

With the win, the Blues evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

Dundas' penalty kill excelled, as the Blues gave up one goal despite allowing 10 power plays.

Dundas additionally got points from Alex Panov, who also had one goal and one assist, Kevin Jaczenko, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Johnson, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Dundas included Cody Carey and Elijah Williams, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Dan Pelosini and Chad Carey, who each chipped in one.

The Riverhawks were helped by Kyle Robertson, who tallied two goals. Robertson scored the first of his two goals at 5:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chippawa. Robertson's next tally made the score 3-3 with 19:26 left in the third period. Chippawa earned a power play opportunity when Incze was put in the box for slashing. Curtis Sauve provided the assist. Chippawa also got points from Sauve, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Chippawa came via Adam Quait, Alex Cipriano, and Michael Rogers, who contributed one a piece.

Brock Novak recorded 21 saves for Dundas. The Blues incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Colin Dunne made 22 saves for the Riverhawks on 29 shots. Chippawa incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
