The Dundas Blues tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Chippawa Riverhawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. A goal by New Player put Chippawa up 4-2 in the third period, but Dundas pulled to within one on Braxton Andrews's tally 12:34 into the third period. The win gave the Riverhawks a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Chippawa got the win with help from a great game by Curtis Sauve, who had two goals and one assist. Sauve scored the first of his two goals at 13:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Chippawa. Luke Brackett assisted on the tally. Sauve's next tally made the score 3-1 Chippawa with 8:06 left in the second period. The Riverhawks were on a disadvantage when Jonathan England went off the ice for cross checking. Wade Kenny picked up the assist. Chippawa kept the Blues' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brock Novak made 31 saves on 35 shots. Chippawa additionally got points from Michael Rogers, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Player, who also had one goal and one assist. Dundas forced the Riverhawks goalie Colin Dunne to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The defensemen of the Blues were also effective in Chippawa's zone, and came away with two goals. Dundas also got points from Garret Incze, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Branden Graffi also scored for Dundas. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Matt Johnson and Brayden Knott, who each chipped in one. Dunne recorded 33 saves for the Riverhawks. Chippawa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Dundas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
