The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Glanbrook Rangers on a clutch goal by Mack Steele. After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Glanbrook faces elimination next time out. Steele was all over the ice for Dunnville, as he registered two goals in the win. Steele found the back of the net 17:07 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Dunnville and again while eight seconds into the fourth to make the score 5-4 Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Rangers to score three power play goals on four chances. The defensemen of Dunnville were also effective in Glanbrook's zone, and came away with two goals. Dunnville additionally got points from Trevor Smith, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Jordan Bolibrook, who also had one goal and one assist. Dunnville also got a goal from Jeff May as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dunnville were Luke Stevens, who had one. The Rangers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Dunnville power plays. Glanbrook's offense rang up 38 shots on the Jr. Mudcats' net. The Rangers were helped by Derek Vandenberg, who racked up one goal. Vandenberg scored on the power play 15:34 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Glanbrook. A slashing penalty on Bolibrook had put Glanbrook on the power play. Chadd Edwards assisted on the tally. Glanbrook also got points from Colin Elder, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Glanbrook included Chris Haigh and Keifer MacInnes, who each put in one. More assists for Glanbrook came via Anthony Whitwell and Brad Parish, who each chipped in one and Curtis Edwards and Cole Anderson, who contributed two a piece. Jesse Schoeman recorded 34 saves for Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Rangers' Matthew Venturelli stopped 25 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Glanbrook incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
