Stittsville Royals outlasts Arnprior Packers, 4-2

Stittsville Royals and Arnprior Packers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Stittsville Royals made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Derek Varrin secured the win for Stittsville Royals with a goal in the third period.

Stittsville Royals was paced by Varrin, who tallied one goal. Varrin scored on the power play 5:40 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Stittsville Royals. A hooking penalty on Mike MacKenzie had put Stittsville Royals on the power play. Alex Hulford provided the assist.

Arnprior Packers was unable to stop Stittsville Royals from sending pucks towards the net, and Stittsville Royals eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Stittsville Royals also got points from Kevin Groulx, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Stittsville Royals included Tanner Knight and Mitch Kerwin, who each put in one. In addition, Stittsville Royals received assists from Jeremy Nichols, Joey Laird, Keegan Rowe, and Jordan Cale, who each chipped in one.

Arnprior Packers kept Stittsville Royals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrick Kealey made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Arnprior Packers was helped by Jake Gaudet, who had one goal. Gaudet scored on the power play 7:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arnprior Packers. Arnprior Packers had gotten the advantage when Stittsville Royals' Jake Oliver was sent off for hooking. Kurtis Keohane assisted on the tally. Arnprior Packers also got a goal from Nick Wysman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Arnprior Packers were Ty Fleming, Corey Chaplin, and Damian Armstrong, who contributed one a piece.

Stittsville Royals incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Erik Miksik made 32 saves for Arnprior Packers on 35 shots. Arnprior Packers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
