Huge game by Huber boosts Wingham over Kincardine, 6-4

Jamie Huber was all over the ice for the Wingham Ironmen, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Wingham's 6-4 win over the Kincardine Bulldogs.

Huber's tallies came on the power play at 1:41 into the second period to make the score 3-3 and 14:26 into the second to make the score 5-4 Wingham.

The Ironmen pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 50 penalty minutes.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:58 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with four game misconducts.

Wingham stifled Kincardine's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Ironmen forced the Bulldogs goalie Paul Boyadadin to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. The defensemen of Wingham were also effective in Kincardine's zone, and came away with two goals.

Wingham also got points from Jordan Skerrett, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Wingham included Liam Nemett and Justin Jacklin, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Wingham were Travis Donaldson, who had two, Aaron Armstrong, who had five, and Matt McCracken and Greg Scott, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 14 minors and two majors for 78 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 21.0 minutes per game Kincardine had been spending in the box. The Ironmen were unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kincardine eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Bulldogs were led by Sam Feagan, who racked up two goals. Feagan scored the first of his two goals at 4:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kincardine. Brett Catto picked up the assist. Feagan's next tally made the score 3-1 Kincardine with 9:04 left in the first period. Catto assisted on the tally. Kincardine also had goals scored by Shawn Moore and Tanner Simpson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Kincardine came via Jamie Miller, who had two and Carter Strachan, Shawn Flynn, and Cody Britton, who contributed one a piece.

Wingham's Jaden Shrier stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Ironmen registered three goals on 17 power play opportunities. For Wingham, McCracken and Jeremy Ross were ejected from the contest. Boyadadin rejected 41 shots on goal for Kincardine. The Bulldogs registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities. Team's Chad Simpson, Flynn, Matt Baker, Brandon Priestap, and Simpson were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
