Kolodzey's goals lift Grimsby to 6-2 victory over Port Dover

Behind a great game by Andrew Kolodzey, who had two goals, the Grimsby Peach Kings defeated the Port Dover Sailors, 6-2.

Kolodzey's tallies came at 17:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grimsby and short handed 9:05 into the second to make the score 3-2 Grimsby.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Port Dover faces elimination next time out.

Grimsby's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Port Dover power plays. The Peach Kings kept the Sailors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan McKinnon made 33 saves on 39 shots.

Grimsby also got points from Jeromy Hopkins, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Grimsby also got a goal from Andrew McMurtrie as well. More assists for Grimsby came via Trevor McEneny, Aiden Board, Eric Cerino, Cooper Nauboris, Colin Wierts, Nicholas Briggs, and Matthew Paonessa, who each chipped in one.

Port Dover excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Sailors were helped by Taz Myers, who tallied one goal. Myers scored 3:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Grimsby. Matt Vansickle picked up the assist. Port Dover additionally got points from Michael Almas, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Mitch Mathieu made 23 saves for Grimsby on 25 shots. The Peach Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Port Dover incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
