The Port Dover Sailors had trouble finding ways to stop the Grimsby Peach Kings, which beat Sailors, 7-1. The win gave Grimsby a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Peach Kings got the win on the strength of a great game by Mathew Paonessa, who had two goals and one assist. Paonessa scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grimsby. Grimsby had taken the advantage when Port Dover's Josh Herter got sent off for checking from behind. Jordan McCarl assisted on the tally. Paonessa's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Grimsby with 5:51 left in the second period. Brennan Smith picked up the assist. The Peach Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Port Dover power plays. Grimsby also got points from William Demers, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and McCarl, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Grimsby included Eric Cerino, Jeromy Hopkins, and Andrew McMurtrie, who each put in one. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Colin Wierts, who had three and Aiden Board and Nicholas Briggs, who contributed one a piece. Josh Astorino made 19 saves for Grimsby on 20 shots. The Peach Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Bob Wilson rejected 18 shots on goal for the Sailors. Port Dover incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Sailors, Herter was ejected from the game.
