Liscio nets hat trick, leads xTrenton to 7-2 win over Burlington

Danny Liscio lifted the xTrenton Golden Hawks to a 7-2 victory with a hat trick against the Burlington Cougars.

Liscio's first goal came 15:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:56 into the second and at 51 seconds into the third.

xTrenton put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Burlington to score on any of its three power plays. The Golden Hawks' offense rang up 50 shots on the Cougars' net. xTrenton surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Golden Hawks average 4.1 goals per game.

xTrenton additionally got points from Tyler Donaldson, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Zach de Concilys, who also had one goal and one assist. xTrenton also got a goal from Ryan Kinsella as well. Other players who recorded assists for xTrenton were Tyler Mayea, who had three, Mathew Thompson, Chrisitian Lloyd, Shaquille Hickey, and Brian Hurlimann, who each chipped in one, and Dylan Savory and Brady Wiffen, who contributed two a piece.

Burlington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Cougars were helped by Christian Burel, who racked up one goal. Burel scored 18:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Lepore assisted on the tally. Neil Aird also scored for Burlington. In addition, Burlington received assists from Ryan Wilkinson, Paolo DeSousa, and Daniel Campbell, who each chipped in one.

Denny Dubblestyne rejected 25 shots on goal for xTrenton. The Golden Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. xTrenton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kinsella was ejected from the game. Burlington's Jeremy Currie stopped 43 shots out of the 50 that he faced. The Cougars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For Burlington, Aird was ejected from the game.
