Phoenix Knights rolls over Colorado Eagles, 6-3

Phoenix Knights had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over Colorado Eagles.

Phoenix Knights pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 17 penalty minutes.

Phoenix Knights' offense rang up 33 shots on Colorado Eagles' net.

Phoenix Knights was led by Kelby Minshull, who tallied one goal and two assists. Minshull scored on the power play 14:43 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Phoenix Knights. Phoenix Knights earned a power play opportunity when Kyle Arenson was put in the box for hooking. Mitch Cobby assisted on the tally. Phoenix Knights also had goals scored by Jordan Cullum, who had two and Robert Smith, Shane Fitzpatrick, and Trent Boschman, who each put in one. In addition, Phoenix Knights received assists from Charlie Allen, Brynton Macnab, and Nick Kujawa, who each chipped in one and Max Mahood and Brennan Johnsson, who contributed two a piece.

Colorado Eagles was helped by Nick Davidson, who had one goal. Davidson scored 17:18 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Phoenix Knights. Levi Weber picked up the assist. Others who scored for Colorado Eagles included Jackson Wallis and Luke Galatiuk, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Colorado Eagles were Lance Pennington, who had one.

Alex Taylor made 27 saves for Phoenix Knights on 30 shots. Phoenix Knights registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Eric Messer rejected 27 shots on goal for Colorado Eagles. Colorado Eagles totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
