Southern Oregon Spartans uses big games from Edstrom and Spencer to down xColorado Eagles, 5-2

Behind two goals from Carl Edstrom and one goal Tyler Spencer, Southern Oregon Spartans downed xColorado Eagles 5-2.

Edstrom scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:59 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Southern Oregon Spartans had gotten the advantage when xColorado Eagles' Logan Libal was sent off for boarding. Ben Henry provided the assist. Edstrom's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Southern Oregon Spartans with 3:12 left in the third period. Spencer scored 14:46 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Southern Oregon Spartans. Cy Jenson assisted on the tally.

Southern Oregon Spartans additionally got points from Henry, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Justus Saldeen also scored for Southern Oregon Spartans. In addition, Southern Oregon Spartans received assists from Trevor Hillman and Jason Henry, who each chipped in one.

xColorado Eagles did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. xColorado Eagles puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. Southern Oregon Spartans was unable to stop xColorado Eagles from sending pucks towards the net, and xColorado Eagles eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

More assists for xColorado Eagles came via Kyle Arenson and Lance Pennington, who contributed one a piece.

Marco Medina Jr. recorded 32 saves for Southern Oregon Spartans. Southern Oregon Spartans incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Quinn Wold made 24 saves for xColorado Eagles on 28 shots. xColorado Eagles incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
