Kienapple nets hat trick, leads New Hamburg to 6-3 win over BurfordBurford Community Centre Sun, Jan 12, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Sean Kienapple was the highlight in Firebirds' 6-3 win against the Burford Bulldogs. Kienapple got on the scoresheet 23 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 9:09 into the first and at 14:30 into the second.The New Hamburg Firebirds' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Burford power plays. New Hamburg additionally got points from Carter Tracey, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Others who scored for New Hamburg included Tyler Randerson and Quinten Haddock, who scored one goal each. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Kyle Mohr, who had three and Eric Peicheff, Kyle McDonald, David Jennings, and Jaden Goetz, who contributed one a piece. Burford was led by Adam Harris, who racked up one goal and one assist. Harris scored 3:32 into the second period to make the score 3-2 New Hamburg. Kyle Chaney assisted on the tally. Burford also had goals scored by Peter Janeck and Kolby Francis, who each put in one. More assists for Burford came via Tyler Vandenbussche, Austin Elkin, and Jesse Brooks, who each chipped in one. Peicheff recorded 21 saves for New Hamburg. The Firebirds totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For New Hamburg, Tracey was ejected from the game. Riley Edwards rejected 22 shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Burford ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. The Bulldogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hayden Cox was ejected from the game.
