Renfrew Timberwolves beats Shawville Pontiacs 5-4 after comeback scare

Renfrew Timberwolves survived a determined comeback attempt by Shawville Pontiacs on the way to a 5-4 win.

A goal by Sean Kyte put Renfrew Timberwolves up 5-3 in the third period, but Shawville Pontiacs pulled to within one on Liam Poirier's tally 9:07 into the third period.

Renfrew Timberwolves pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 20 penalty minutes.

Renfrew Timberwolves additionally got points from Scott Conroy, who also had one goal and one assist. Renfrew Timberwolves also had goals scored by Colin Bradbury, Tanner Smith, and Bailey Hein, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Renfrew Timberwolves were Michael Minns, Luke Lapierre, and Tyler MacDonald, who each chipped in one and Teddy Suckow and Cole Allard, who contributed two a piece.

Shawville Pontiacs' offense rang up 31 shots on Renfrew Timberwolves' net.

Shawville Pontiacs also got a goal from Mathew Labrosse as well. In addition, Shawville Pontiacs received assists from Julian Dumont, who had two, Lucas Driscoll-McKinnon, who had three, and Anthony Rea and Danick Genest, who each chipped in one.

Renfrew Timberwolves' Matt Gagne stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Renfrew Timberwolves registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Danick Boisvert rejected 21 shots on goal for Shawville Pontiacs. Shawville Pontiacs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
