Chicago Fury (mm) vanquishes Belle Tire (mm) in shootout, 2-1 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Chicago Fury (mm) defeated Belle Tire (mm) in a shootout 2-1 (2-0 SO).

The shootout featured four attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Chicago Fury (mm) got a shootout goal from JOSEPH ABATE.

Chicago Fury (mm) came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Chicago Fury (mm) trailed 1-0 after a goal by Belle Tire (mm)'s Jake Crespi at 11:13 in the first period. Chicago Fury (mm) knotted things up at 1-1 on a goal by TRAVIS SCHNEIDER at 12:10 in the third period.

Belle Tire (mm) was stymied by Chicago Fury (mm) netminder VINNIE PURPURA, who stopped 33 shots during the victory. The solid play of PURPURA will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.85.

Chicago Fury (mm) excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

In addition, Chicago Fury (mm) received assists from KYLE KEATING and Vladimir Studennikov, who each chipped in one.

Belle Tire (mm)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Chicago Fury (mm) power plays. Belle Tire (mm)'s offense rang up 34 shots on Chicago Fury (mm)'s net.
