Perth Blue Wings vanquishes Stittsville Royals in shootout, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Perth Blue Wings defeated Stittsville Royals in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for seven attempts between the teams. Stittsville Royals got a shootout goal from Alex Hulford. In addition to the clincher, Perth Blue Wings got a shootout goal from Blair Barr.

Jimmy Pearson had a great game for Perth Blue Wings, netting two goals. Pearson's tallies came at 8:54 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and 14:40 into the second to make the score 2-2.

Perth Blue Wings' offense rang up 38 shots on Stittsville Royals' net.

Brett Everson also scored for Perth Blue Wings. Other players who recorded assists for Perth Blue Wings were Adam Morton, Christian Bueti, and Jaren Burke, who each chipped in one.

Stittsville Royals kept Perth Blue Wings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cam Lerner made 33 saves on 36 shots.

Stittsville Royals was helped by Blake Martyniuk, who had one goal. Martyniuk scored on the power play 18:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stittsville Royals. Steve Genier picked up the assist. Others who scored for Stittsville Royals included Keegan Rowe and Talmadge Farnes, who scored one goal each. More assists for Stittsville Royals came via Jesse Renaud, Tanner Knight, Robbie Clarkson, and Jordan Cale, who contributed one a piece.

Perth Blue Wings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Patrick Kealey made 34 saves for Stittsville Royals on 37 shots. Stittsville Royals ended with no penalties and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
