Pena lifts Fresno Monsters over El Paso Rhinos, 4-1

Fresno Monsters relied on the scoring touch of Anthony Pena, who netted two goals, to beat El Paso Rhinos, 4-1.

Pena scored at 2:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fresno Monsters and again while on the power play 10:48 into the second to make the score 3-1 Fresno Monsters.

El Paso Rhinos was stymied by Fresno Monsters netminder Jerry Kaukinen, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. Kaukinen managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.72 prior to the game.

Fresno Monsters stifled El Paso Rhinos' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fresno Monsters' offense rang up 34 shots on El Paso Rhinos' net.
