Ontario Avalanche hangs on, beats Cheyenne Stampede 3-1

Lubomir Fetkovic gave Ontario Avalanche the lead in the first period, and Cheyenne Stampede was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1.

Ontario Avalanche took over the lead for good with a goal by Fetkovic at 21:04 in the first period. Luke Rendino picked up the assist.

Fetkovic was all over the ice for Ontario Avalanche, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win.

Ontario Avalanche's Daniel Cepila was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Cepila managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.25 prior to the game.

Ontario Avalanche also got points from Brett Norman, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Ontario Avalanche received assists from Jackson Giammona, who had one.

Cheyenne Stampede did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Cheyenne Stampede puts an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game.

Cheyenne Stampede was led by Russell Armbruster, who scored the team's only goal. Armbruster scored on the power play 20:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cheyenne Stampede had taken the advantage when Ontario Avalanche's Ben Meadows got sent off for high sticking. Heath Lantz provided the assist.

Ontario Avalanche incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Rasmus Hansson made 27 saves for Cheyenne Stampede on 30 shots. Cheyenne Stampede incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
