Groth leads New Mexico Renegades to shutout victory over Wichita Jr. Thunder

John Groth was superb between the pipes for New Mexico Renegades, as he did not allow a goal in a 1-0 victory over Wichita Jr. Thunder.

Sam Armitage's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 11:00 in the second period. New Mexico Renegades had gained a power play chance when John Crusinberry was whistled for slashing. Nikita Pervyakov assisted on the tally.

New Mexico Renegades was led by Armitage, who racked up one goal.

Wichita Jr. Thunder forced New Mexico Renegades goalie Groth to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Groth recorded 32 saves for New Mexico Renegades. New Mexico Renegades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Wichita Jr. Thunder's Marco Medina stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. Wichita Jr. Thunder incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
