Beaulieu's goals lift El Paso Rhinos to 4-1 victory over Ogden Mustangs

El Paso Rhinos relied on the scoring touch of Dakota Beaulieu, who netted two goals, to beat Ogden Mustangs, 4-1.

Beaulieu found the back of the net 20:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 El Paso Rhinos and again while 22:24 into the second to make the score 3-1 El Paso Rhinos.

El Paso Rhinos was led by goalie Adam Vay, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Vay will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.75.

El Paso Rhinos excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. El Paso Rhinos could not produce up to it normal offensive output. El Paso Rhinos puts an average of 7.3 pucks into the net per game. El Paso Rhinos kept Ogden Mustangs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Fallica made 34 saves on 38 shots.

El Paso Rhinos additionally got points from Matthew Plesa, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Peter Plesa also scored for El Paso Rhinos. Other players who recorded assists for El Paso Rhinos were Chad Cesarz and Brandon Edson, who each chipped in one and Tom Bartel and Chris Wilhite, who contributed two a piece.

Ogden Mustangs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow El Paso Rhinos to score on any of its five power plays. Ogden Mustangs' offense operated below it season average. Ogden Mustangs averages 5.0 goals per game. El Paso Rhinos was unable to stop Ogden Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Ogden Mustangs eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Ogden Mustangs was led by Brody Decker, who scored the team's only goal. Decker scored 15:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ogden Mustangs. Tommy Pokorney provided the assist.

El Paso Rhinos incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ogden Mustangs ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Ogden Mustangs, Pokorney was ejected from the game.
