Huge game by Valo boosts Dallas Ice Jets over Cheyenne Stampede, 4-1

Ondrej Valo had two goals and one assist to lead Dallas Ice Jets to a 4-1 victory over Cheyenne Stampede.

Valo scored at 23:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dallas Ice Jets and again while on the power play 11:32 into the second to make the score 3-0 Dallas Ice Jets.

Cheyenne Stampede was stymied by Dallas Ice Jets netminder Jordan Salas, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. The solid play of Salas will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.84.

Dallas Ice Jets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cheyenne Stampede to score on any of its five power plays.

Dallas Ice Jets also had goals scored by Bryan Siersma and Ricky Green, who each put in one. In addition, Dallas Ice Jets received assists from Matthew Heim, Scott Folden, and Spencer Roth, who each chipped in one.

Cheyenne Stampede's offense operated below it season average. Cheyenne Stampede puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Penalties took their toll on Cheyenne Stampede, as its penalty kill unit let in two power play goals.

Cheyenne Stampede was led by Russell Armbruster, who scored the team's only goal. Armbruster scored 17:59 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Dallas Ice Jets.

Dallas Ice Jets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cheyenne Stampede's Sam Mallory stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Cheyenne Stampede incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
