Schafer leads Missoula Maulers over New Mexico Renegades, 8-0

Corey Schafer was all over the ice for Missoula Maulers, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Missoula Maulers' 8-0 win over New Mexico Renegades.

Schafer got on the board by slotting home a goal 1:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Missoula Maulers. Craig Buford assisted on the tally. Schafer dished an assist on Derek Griffin's goal that made the score 2-0 Missoula Maulers at 13:18 into the first period. He added another helper on Joey Sundgren's goal that made the score 4-0 Missoula Maulers at 13:03 into the second period.

Missoula Maulers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Missoula Maulers forced New Mexico Renegades goalie Brendan Hanser to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. Missoula Maulers' goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Missoula Maulers averages 2.9 goals per contest. Missoula Maulers got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
