Great Falls vanquishes All-Stars in shootout, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Dylan Garton scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Great Falls Americans picked up the extra point in a 4-3 (2-1 SO) win over All-Stars.

The two teams needed nine turns to complete the shootout. All-Stars' shootout goal was scored by TJ Theodosopoulos. In addition to the clincher, Great Falls got a shootout goal from Steven Goran.

The Americans were paced by Garton, who registered one goal. Garton scored 17:55 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Great Falls. Lucas Stover provided the assist.

Great Falls was led by Garton, who tallied one goal. Great Falls also had goals scored by Doug Keller and Zachary Mese, who each put in one. In addition, Great Falls received assists from Cody Page, Goran, Max Kaercher, and Austin Nottke, who contributed one a piece.

All-Stars forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game All-Stars had been spending in the box. All-Stars put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Americans to score on any of their four power plays.

All-Stars was helped by Ryan Erickson, who had one goal. Erickson scored 22:10 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Trent Carter assisted on the tally. Others who scored for All-Stars included Steven Nisbet and Sam Orth, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for All-Stars were Brandon Miller, Mitchell Fehd, and Sebastien Hansson, who each chipped in one.

Evan Hauser recorded 18 saves for Great Falls. The Americans incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Cole Semchak took the loss and made nine saves before being replaced by Erik Powell who made three saves. All-Stars registered one goal on four power play opportunities. All-Stars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ralfs Karelis was ejected from the game.
