Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) squeaks by Belle Tire (MM), 5-3

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) and Belle Tire (MM) were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) gained the winning advantage on a goal by Drew Holcombe 17:31 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

With four goals and one assist between them, Logan Orem and Nathan Krusko teamed up to power Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s offense. Orem tallied two goals and Krusko also added two goals and one assist.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Belle Tire (MM) power plays. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) forced Belle Tire (MM) goalie Luke Frawley to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) also got points from Krusko, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) were Zach Sarnowski and Mitch Fossier, who each chipped in one and Austin Beaulieu and Connor Wood, who contributed two a piece.

Belle Tire (MM)'s offense rang up 39 shots on Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s net. Belle Tire (MM)'s defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Belle Tire (MM) gives up 2.4 goals per game.

Belle Tire (MM) was led by Isaac Ceh, who finished with two goals. Ceh scored the first of his two goals at 7:44 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Thunder AAA Hockey (MM). Dawson DiPietro assisted on the tally. Ceh's next tally made the score 3-3 with 5:22 left in the third period. Jake Slaker picked up the assist. Thomas Luzynski also scored for Belle Tire (MM). In addition, Belle Tire (MM) received assists from John Oconnor and Matt Stief, who each chipped in one.

Nicholas Anderson rejected 36 shots on goal for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM). Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Frawley recorded 29 saves for Belle Tire (MM). Belle Tire (MM) incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
