The Helena Bighorns and the Great Falls Americans were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Helena made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Sebastian Hansson at 4:21 of the third period.

The Bighorns were led by Hansson, who racked up one goal.

Helena forced Great Falls goalie Erik Powell to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots.

Helena also had goals scored by Dylan Webster, Parker Olson, Corbin Belling, and Austin Buckholtz, who each put in one. In addition, Helena received assists from Nick Okada, Brian Skillicorn, and Alek Lazarski, who each chipped in one and Jacob Wolter and Logan Henne, who contributed two a piece.

The Americans were helped by Doug Keller, who had one goal. Keller scored short handed 11:17 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Great Falls. Great Falls found itself down a man on Aaron McInnis's head contact. Great Falls also got points from Cody Page, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Great Falls also got a goal from Steven Goran as well. More assists for Great Falls came via Dylan Garton and Connor Barta, who each chipped in one.

Lazarski rejected 21 shots on goal for the Bighorns. Helena incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Erik Powell made 53 saves for the Americans on 57 shots. Great Falls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
