Melbourne Whalers rides Hill to victory over Sydney Wolf Pack, 2-1

Mackenzie Hill had a standout game with 34 saves, and Melbourne Whalers beat Sydney Wolf Pack 2-1.

Melbourne Whalers was sparked by Paul Lazzarotto, who grabbed one goal. Lazzarotto scored 14:37 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Melbourne Whalers. Vadim Ragozin assisted on the tally.

Melbourne Whalers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Sydney Wolf Pack to score on any of its five power plays. By firing 20 shots on goal, Melbourne Whalers exceeded the 2.2 shots it averages per game this year.
