Kubara's big game bests Perth Sharks in 6-2 Sydney Sabres win

Casey Kubara was all over the ice for Sydney Sabres, as he tallied two goals and four assists in Sydney Sabres' 6-2 win over Perth Sharks.

Kubara found the back of the net 14:54 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Sydney Sabres and again while 14:14 into the second to make the score 5-0 Sydney Sabres.

Sydney Sabres excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. By firing 38 shots on goal, Sydney Sabres exceeded the 4.4 shots it averages per game this year.

Sydney Sabres also got points from Cameron Todd, who also finished with two goals and four assists and Bryan Costa, who also registered one goal and two assists. Zhan Wardlaw also scored for Sydney Sabres. In addition, Sydney Sabres received assists from Yucca Reinecke, who had one.

Perth Sharks struggled to put together a cohesive attack and finished with a mere 13 shots over the course of the game. However, Perth Sharks finished with more shots in the game than the 1.6 per game it averages.

Sydney Sabres' Rhett Kelly stopped 11 shots out of the 13 that he faced. Sydney Sabres incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mark McCann recorded 32 saves for Perth Sharks. Perth Sharks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
