Melbourne Whalers beats Melbourne Glaciers 3-1 after comeback scare

Melbourne Whalers survived a determined comeback attempt by Melbourne Glaciers on the way to a 3-1 win.

A goal by Christopher Wong put Melbourne Whalers up 3-0 in the second period, but Melbourne Glaciers pulled to within two on Scott Maloney's tally 9:14 into the third period.

Ethan Cornford had two goals to lead Melbourne Whalers to victory. Cornford scored at 1:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Melbourne Whalers and again while on the power play 3:08 into the second to make the score 2-0 Melbourne Whalers.
