Perth Sharks beats Perth Pelicans 6-4 as Sak gets hat trick

Tomek Sak netted a hat trick to lead Perth Sharks over Perth Pelicans, 6-4.

Sak notched his first tally 5:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:22 into the third and at 14:32 into the third.

Perth Sharks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Perth Pelicans to score on any of its three power plays. With 19 shots on target during the contest, Perth Sharks exceeded the 6.0 shots it averages per game this year.

Perth Sharks also got points from Ryan Smith, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Shaun Tobin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Perth Sharks also got a goal from Bruno Stolze as well. Other players who recorded assists for Perth Sharks were Grayson Beets, Ivan Ageev, Alastair Punler, William Moffatt, and Benedik Stolze, who contributed one a piece.

The 19 shots that Perth Pelicans put on net surpassed Perth Pelicans' average of 4.0 shots per game this season.

Perth Pelicans was helped by Zane Cunliffe, who finished with two goals. Cunliffe scored the first of his two goals at 12:28 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Rhys Dumpleton picked up the assist. Cunliffe's next tally made the score 4-3 Perth Pelicans with 19:45 left in the third period. Kieren Webster provided the assist. Perth Pelicans additionally got points from Webster, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Aaron Dumpleton also scored for Perth Pelicans. More assists for Perth Pelicans came via Rowan Sobey, Matt Armstrong, and Chris Shade, who each chipped in one.

Mark McCann made 15 saves for Perth Sharks on 19 shots. Perth Sharks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Stephen McCann took the loss and made seven saves before being replaced by Sobey who made six saves. Perth Pelicans incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
