Smith-Merovitz's hat trick boosts Melbourne Ice over Brisbane Goannas, 10-3

Brisbane Goannas could not stop Melbourne Ice's Maia Smith-Merovitz, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-3 win.

Smith-Merovitz notched her first tally 3:04 into the second period. He then added goals at 5:43 into the third and at 7:04 into the third.

Melbourne Ice pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Melbourne Ice put 24 shots on net during the contest, more than the 5.3 it averages per game. Melbourne Ice outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Melbourne Ice averages 5.4 goals per contest.

Melbourne Ice additionally got points from Shona Green, who also had one goal and three assists, Lucy Parrington, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Kristelle Vanderwolf, who also finished with one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Lindsay Audia, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Rylie Padjen, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Melbourne Ice also got a goal from Olivia Dawson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Melbourne Ice were Nerissa Box, who had one and Georgia Giblin and Sarah Teed, who contributed two a piece.

Brisbane Goannas also had goals scored by Alexandra MacDonald and Hannah Westbrook, who each put in one. More assists for Brisbane Goannas came via Keesha Atkins and Jemma Wallace, who each chipped in one.
