Colorado Rampage beats Great Plains 4-3 after comeback scare

Colorado Rampage survived a determined comeback attempt by Great Plains on the way to a 4-3 win.

Colorado Rampage took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Great Plains storm back on a Alex Strand goal 34 seconds into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Colorado Rampage's penalty kill excelled, as Colorado Rampage gave up one goal despite allowing 11 power plays.

Colorado Rampage kept Great Plains' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Dittmer made 29 saves on 33 shots. Colorado Rampage could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. Colorado Rampage got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Colorado Rampage was helped by James Huerena, who finished with one goal. Huerena scored 12:19 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Colorado Rampage. Jack Suter picked up the assist. Colorado Rampage additionally got points from Suter, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Alex Schubert also scored for Colorado Rampage. Other players who recorded assists for Colorado Rampage were Nolan Carothers, Cameron Strong, Logan Speelman, and Jack Sumner, who each chipped in one.

Colorado Rampage was unable to stop Great Plains from sending pucks towards the net, and Great Plains eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Great Plains also got points from Zach Yon, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Great Plains came via Adam Pancoast, Will Borgan, and Isak Bergland, who contributed one a piece.

Colorado Rampage's Jacob Weatherly stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Colorado Rampage registered two goals on zero power play opportunities.
