LA Jr. Kings (mm) squeaks by Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm), 4-2

LA Jr. Kings (mm) and Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm) were evenly matched throughout their contest, but LA Jr. Kings (mm) made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and dylan strahan's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Kailer Yamamoto had a great game for LA Jr. Kings (mm), netting two goals. Yamamoto found the back of the net on the power play 6:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LA Jr. Kings (mm) and again while 17:06 into the third to make the score 4-2 LA Jr. Kings (mm).

LA Jr. Kings (mm)'s penalty kill excelled, as LA Jr. Kings (mm) gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

LA Jr. Kings (mm) stifled Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. LA Jr. Kings (mm) kept Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm)'s goalie busy throughout the game, and Joshua Nolan made 29 saves on 33 shots.

Matthew Wiesner also scored for LA Jr. Kings (mm). Other players who recorded assists for LA Jr. Kings (mm) were Joseph Thielen, who had two and Dakota Raabe, Eetu Selanne, Aaron Aragon, Jacob Rosenbaum, and Chase DiBari, who each chipped in one.

Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm) was helped by Jonathan Weston, who tallied one goal. Weston scored 7:02 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Alex Aguirre provided the assist. Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm) also got a goal from Nathan Burke as well. More assists for Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm) came via Jordan Nolan, who had one.

Garrett Nieto made 21 saves for LA Jr. Kings (mm) on 23 shots. LA Jr. Kings (mm) incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (mm) incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
