Bloomington Jr Blaze survived a determined comeback attempt by Michigan Ice Dogs on the way to a 4-2 win. A goal by Peter Carlin put Bloomington Jr Blaze up 4-1 in the third period, but Michigan Ice Dogs pulled to within two on Drew Hull's tally 14:06 into the third period. Bloomington Jr Blaze excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Bloomington Jr Blaze was led by Jorey Skelton, who finished with three goals. Bloomington Jr Blaze additionally got points from Carlin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington Jr Blaze were Tommy Hrynkiw, John Urmetz, and Nathan Zoellner, who each chipped in one and Dylan Farmer and Micah Young, who contributed two a piece. Michigan Ice Dogs stifled Bloomington Jr Blaze's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
