Soo Firehawks squeaks by Traverse City Hounds, 4-2

The game between Soo Firehawks and Traverse City Hounds was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Soo Firehawks emerged with a 4-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nick Papandrea secured the win for Soo Firehawks with a goal in the third period.

Soo Firehawks got the win with help from a great game by Cody Anderson, who had one goal and three assists. Anderson scored on the power play 16:04 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Soo Firehawks. A tripping penalty on Scott Luca had put Soo Firehawks on the power play. Nicholas Murphy picked up the assist.

Soo Firehawks forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Soo Firehawks surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. Soo Firehawks forced Traverse City Hounds goalie David Krejcik to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.
