Michigan Ice Dogs survived a determined comeback attempt by Alpena Street Cats on the way to a 5-4 win.

Michigan Ice Dogs made the score 4-2 on a goal by Matthew Hartford at 1:20 in the third period, and Alpena Street Cats got as close as 4-3 when Sergey Deev scored 3:38 into the third period.

Michigan Ice Dogs got the win with help from a great game by Michael Diaz, who had two goals and one assist. Diaz scored the first of his two goals at 11:32 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Michigan Ice Dogs. Hunter Ledgerwood provided the assist. Diaz's next tally made the score 5-4 Michigan Ice Dogs with three seconds left in the third period. Ledgerwood assisted on the tally.

Michigan Ice Dogs stifled Alpena Street Cats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Michigan Ice Dogs' offense rang up 54 shots on Alpena Street Cats' net.

Michigan Ice Dogs also got points from Ledgerwood, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Kerry Cummings also scored for Michigan Ice Dogs. More assists for Michigan Ice Dogs came via Tyler Textor, Logan Bennett, and Robert Schultz, who each chipped in one.

Alpena Street Cats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Michigan Ice Dogs power plays.

Alpena Street Cats was helped by Vladislav Khasanov, who racked up two goals. Khasanov scored the first of his two goals at 9:16 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Michigan Ice Dogs. Deev provided the assist. Khasanov's next tally made the score 2-2 with 7:19 left in the first period. Andrei Yanovich picked up the assist. Alpena Street Cats additionally got points from Deev, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Alpena Street Cats also got a goal from Kameron Russell as well. In addition, Alpena Street Cats received assists from Pavel Bocharov, who had one.

Anthony Veresan recorded 22 saves for Michigan Ice Dogs. Michigan Ice Dogs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Alpena Street Cats' Aleksandr Shishkin stopped 49 shots out of the 54 that he faced. Alpena Street Cats incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
