Michigan Ice Dogs survived a determined comeback attempt by Alpena Street Cats on the way to a 5-4 win. Michigan Ice Dogs made the score 4-2 on a goal by Matthew Hartford at 1:20 in the third period, and Alpena Street Cats got as close as 4-3 when Sergey Deev scored 3:38 into the third period. Michigan Ice Dogs got the win with help from a great game by Michael Diaz, who had two goals and one assist. Diaz scored the first of his two goals at 11:32 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Michigan Ice Dogs. Hunter Ledgerwood provided the assist. Diaz's next tally made the score 5-4 Michigan Ice Dogs with three seconds left in the third period. Ledgerwood assisted on the tally. Alpena Street Cats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Michigan Ice Dogs power plays. Alpena Street Cats was helped by Vladislav Khasanov, who racked up two goals.
