Detroit Fighting Irish rips Alpena Street Cats, 5-1

Detroit Fighting Irish had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over Alpena Street Cats.

Detroit Fighting Irish was led by goalie John Slavik, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Slavik certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.95 entering the contest.

Detroit Fighting Irish was led by Dallas Fritz, who racked up one goal and one assist. Fritz scored 15:24 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Detroit Fighting Irish. Aaron Robinson picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:32 into the third period. Six fighting penalties were dished out along with seven game misconducts.

The Detroit Fighting Irish penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and four majors for 78 minutes in penalty time. For Detroit Fighting Irish, Ryan Krolikowski, Pinkowski, James Stacey, and Hernandez were ejected from the contest. Team's Sergey Merzlov, Tommy Hrynkiw, Vladimir Mokrousov, and Skurikhin were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
