Berkley Bruins completes comeback, beats Michigan Ice Dogs, 7-6

Undaunted by a three-goal deficit, Berkley Bruins battled back to claim a 7-6 victory over Michigan Ice Dogs.

Berkley Bruins never led in the game until netting the game winner. Berkley Bruins fell behind 5-2 after a goal by Michigan Ice Dogs' Matthew Hartford at 4:09 in the second period. Berkley Bruins tied things up at 6-6 on a goal by Grant McCormack at 18:30 in the third period. Berkley Bruins got the game winner on the power play at 19:54 in the third period on a goal by McCormack.

Vaughn Clouston was all over the ice for Berkley Bruins, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Clouston scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:46 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Michigan Ice Dogs. Berkley Bruins had gained a power play chance when Anthony Veresan was whistled for delay of game. Steven Kubas provided the assist. Clouston's next tally on the power play made the score 7-6 Berkley Bruins with six seconds left in the third period. A hooking penalty on Kerry Cummings had put Berkley Bruins on the power play. Kubas picked up the assist.

Berkley Bruins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Berkley Bruins kept Michigan Ice Dogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Veresan made 29 saves on 36 shots. Berkley Bruins found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Berkley Bruins averages 4.1 goals per contest.

Berkley Bruins also got points from Austin Wilson, who also registered one goal and two assists, Alfonso (AJ) DiMercurio, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and McCormack, who also had two goals and one assist. Berkley Bruins also got a goal from Austin Postek as well. More assists for Berkley Bruins came via Evan Wilson, who had one and Timothy Muhsman, who had two.

Berkley Bruins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Michigan Ice Dogs, Diaz was ejected from the game.
