Michigan Ice Dogs rolls over Berkley Bruins, 9-3

Michigan Ice Dogs had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-3 win over Berkley Bruins.

Matthew Hartford was all over the ice for Michigan Ice Dogs, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Hartford scored 1:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Michigan Ice Dogs. Hunter Ledgerwood provided the assist.

Michigan Ice Dogs' penalty kill excelled, as Michigan Ice Dogs gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Michigan Ice Dogs forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and three majors for 43 minutes in penalty time. Berkley Bruins was led by Grant McCormack, who had two goals. McCormack scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:33 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Michigan Ice Dogs. A holding penalty on Cummings had put Berkley Bruins on the power play. Austin Wilson picked up the assist. McCormack's next tally on the power play made the score 6-3 Michigan Ice Dogs with 4:10 left in the second period. Berkley Bruins additionally got points from Timothy Muhsman, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Berkley Bruins also got a goal from Joseph Hays as well. More assists for Berkley Bruins came via Colton James and Steven Kubas, who each chipped in one.

Anthony Veresan made 26 saves for Michigan Ice Dogs on 29 shots. For Michigan Ice Dogs, Stephen Sanborn was ejected from the game. Berkley Bruins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Zachary Cruz was ejected from the game.
