Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) shrugs off penalties, upends Cleveland Barons (mm), 2-1

Cleveland Barons (mm) failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) shook off a number of penalties to win, 2-1.

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) was sparked by Zachary Malles, who racked up one goal. Malles scored 7:56 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm). Derek Daschke provided the assist.

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) stifled Cleveland Barons (mm)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cleveland Barons (mm) was unable to stop Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Carter Woolley also scored for Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm). Other players who recorded assists for Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) were Daniel Clark, Ben Mansky, and Brenden Rons, who each chipped in one.

Cleveland Barons (mm) put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) to score on any of its three power plays.

Cleveland Barons (mm) was led by JACOB GAYDOS, who scored the team's only goal. GAYDOS scored 10:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Blake Dickens picked up the assist.
