Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) uses shootout to best Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm), 4-3 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) defeated Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) in a shootout 4-3 (2-0 SO).

The shootout featured four attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) got a shootout goal from Cameron Sangster.

Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) trailed 3-1 after a goal by Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm)'s William Lockwood at 7:30 in the third period. Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Kole Sherwood at 17:20 in the third period.

Sherwood was all over the ice for Ohio Blue Jackets (mm), as he registered two goals in the win.

Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) to score on any of its six power plays.

Brendan Demler also scored for Ohio Blue Jackets (mm). In addition, Ohio Blue Jackets (mm) received assists from Sangster, who had two and Bryan Babcock, Alex Syring, Connor Pooley, and Zachary Tyson, who contributed one a piece.

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm)'s penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) finished with 54 penalty minutes.
