ETOBICOKE gutted out a close 3-2 win against OTTAWA. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Larissa Borowiec secured the win for ETOBICOKE with a goal in the second period. ETOBICOKE was led by Borowiec, who finished with one goal and one assist. Borowiec scored 9:14 into the second period to make the score 3-2 ETOBICOKE. Alison Hanson provided the assist. ETOBICOKE's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as ETOBICOKE finished with 16 penalty minutes. ETOBICOKE also got points from Hanson, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Madison MacCulloch also scored for ETOBICOKE. In addition, ETOBICOKE received assists from Katia Piccoli, Julia Szulewska, and Erin Locke, who contributed one a piece. OTTAWA forced ETOBICOKE goalie Christi Honor to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. OTTAWA was helped by Rebecca Leslie (C), who tallied one goal. Leslie (C) scored 6:49 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Tasza Tarnowski (PU) picked up the assist. OTTAWA also got a goal from Caitlyn McLaren as well. More assists for OTTAWA came via Maggie Knott, who had one and Katelyn Fournier, who had two. Christie Honor made 35 saves for ETOBICOKE on 37 shots. ETOBICOKE registered one goal on six power play opportunities. OTTAWA's Tanya Winchcombe stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that she faced. OTTAWA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
