Vinkle lifts WHITBY over CAMBRIDGE, 4-0

WHITBY relied on the scoring touch of Cassidy Vinkle, who netted two goals, to beat CAMBRIDGE, 4-0.

Vinkle's tallies came at 8:58 into the second period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY and 14:58 into the third to make the score 4-0 WHITBY.

CAMBRIDGE's power play was ineffective against WHITBY's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

WHITBY stifled CAMBRIDGE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WHITBY kept CAMBRIDGE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Julia Vandyk made 40 saves on 44 shots. WHITBY was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.

WHITBY also got points from Rhyen McGill, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Emily Volpe (PU) also scored for WHITBY. More assists for WHITBY came via Jamie Fox (PU), who had two and Kirsten Welsh, Megan Sullivan, Katelyn Rae, and Alana Sims (PU), who each chipped in one.

Hannah Baker recorded 17 saves for WHITBY. WHITBY registered one goal on six power play opportunities. CAMBRIDGE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
