TORONTO squeaks by CAMBRIDGE, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, TORONTO escaped with a 3-2 victory over CAMBRIDGE.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jessie Eldridge secured the win for TORONTO with a goal in the third period.

TORONTO was led by Eldridge, who finished with one goal and one assist. Eldridge scored 15:54 into the third period to make the score 3-2 TORONTO. Loren Gabel assisted on the tally.

TORONTO struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

TORONTO also had goals scored by Jessica Gazzola and Amanda Pantaleo, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Breanne Wilson-Bennett, Lauren Wildfang, and Taytum Clairmont, who contributed one a piece.

CAMBRIDGE stifled TORONTO's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

CAMBRIDGE was helped by Amanda McClure, who racked up one goal. McClure scored 14:31 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Emma Davidson picked up the assist. CAMBRIDGE also got a goal from Angela MacDonald as well. More assists for CAMBRIDGE came via Laine Padovan, who had one and Miranda Lantz, who had two.

Sarah Stephens made 14 saves for TORONTO on 16 shots. TORONTO registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. CAMBRIDGE's Julia Vandyk stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that she faced. CAMBRIDGE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
