LONDON uses early goal to top MISSISSAUGA, 2-0

Kiernyn Campbell scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and LONDON held off the challenges of MISSISSAUGA in a tough 2-0 win.

A goal 10:25 into the the first period by Campbell proved to be the game winner, and powered LONDON to the victory Ella Shelton provided the assist.

LONDON was boosted by Lauren Dubie, who turned in a shutout with 35 saves. The solid play of Dubie will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 2.67.

LONDON was paced by Campbell, who finished with one goal.

LONDON managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. LONDON ended up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. LONDON forced MISSISSAUGA goalie Alysia DaSilva to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

LONDON also got points from Shelton, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for LONDON were Kaylie Dennis (A), who had one.

MISSISSAUGA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three LONDON power plays. MISSISSAUGA did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. MISSISSAUGA averages 3.5 goals per game. MISSISSAUGA's offense rang up 35 shots on LONDON's net.

Alysia DaSilva made 32 saves for MISSISSAUGA on 34 shots. MISSISSAUGA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
